Donors to the Oakland Zoo's Commemorative Bench Program join a community of individuals who help provide comfortable gathering places in the extraordinary setting of our park and Zoo, and support our programs and exhibits.
Through the Commemorative Bench Program, donors may dedicate a bench in specific or existing locations for the anticipated life of a bench, estimated to be ten to fifteen years. The minimum contribution for each bench dedication is $5,000, which includes a bench and an engraved plaque.
Commemorative Benches are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each bench will have a plaque with an inscription commemorating or honoring a person or event of the donor's choosing. The Oakland Zoo will approve final wording of the plaque.
Commemorative Bench contributions are tax-deductible and help support the exhibits, education, and conservation programs of the Oakland Zoo.
