In these mixed age, two-session workshops, Girl Scouts learn how they can make the lives of Zoo animals, pets, and native wildlife more enriching and fun! In the first workshop, you'll learn all about how biologists and animal keepers design projects to encourage natural behaviors of zoo animals and then take a tour to study how our animals behave here at Oakland Zoo. After deciding on an approved project, you will head home to make your enrichment with your troop. You then come back to the Zoo and deliver your project to the animal recipient and observe its reactions! Before heading home, you'll explore how to improve the lives of wildlife in your own backyards (or living room).
