We are so glad that you are planning a trip to the Oakland Zoo! The Zoo itself sits inside 525-acre Knowland Park and is home to more than 660 native and exotic animals. Zoo Hours: Monday - Sunday*: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Rides Area: Monday - Friday: 11:00am - 4:00pm / Saturday - Sunday: 10:00am - 4:00pm
*Saturday, June 22, 2013 the Zoo is closed to prepare for our annual fundraiser, "Walk in the Wild". The Zoo is also closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day so staff may spend the holidays with their families.
Children Under 2 & adults 80+: Free
Children ages 2-14 & Seniors 65-79: $11.75
Adults 15-64: $15.75
Parking: $8.00 per car / $12.00 per bus.

Nestled in the rolling hills of 525-acre Knowland Park, the Zoo is located just off Highway 580 in Oakland. You can reach the Zoo by car, bike, or public transportation.
The Zoo is open to the public year round except for Saturday, June 23, 2012 (annual fundraiser), Thanksgiving, and Christmas so staff may spend the holidays with their families. We want each and every trip to the Zoo to be safe, educational, exciting, and unforgetable. We ask that all visitors adhere to all of the rules and regulations we have set forth for the protection and safety of all the people and the animals. In the event of inclement weather, the Zoo may be forced to close. Call (510) 632-9525 to reach the General Zoo Information line.
Please note: Dogs or other pets are not allowed on Zoo grounds or in parking areas. Service dogs are allowed to enter Zoo grounds.
The Oakland Zoo features a variety of dining opportunities for the entire family. In addition to the food options inside the Zoo, visitors are welcome to use the picnic tables and benches, sprawl out in the meadow, or rent a Picnic Site.
Please note: For the safety of the animals, the Zoo does not provide straws or soft drink lids.
