Whether you want to volunteer, learn the skills of a field biologist, or experience conservation work firsthand, there is sure to be a choice for you. Our unique teen programs are fun and engaging, and provide valuable knowledge and leadership skills for school-to-career transitions.

Try your hand at being a biologist for a day in these engaging workshops for high school students.
Join our ZooCamp Teen Assistants program and spend two weeks playing with kids, helping to lead activities, making crafts, dressing up in costumes and of course, having fun, all while earning community service hours. Teen Assistants are truly an integral part of the camp experience! Teen Assistants (TAs) should be energetic and enjoy spending time with children. This program is designed for teens in grades 9-12.
Travel with the zoo, on a specially designed conservation experience for students.
Our popular Teen Wild Guide (TWG) program is an important part of our volunteer corps, consisting of young people interested in animals, conservation and children. They are motivated, friendly and have a lot of fun! Participants will be trained as interpreters in the Valley Children's Zoo, teaching visitors about animals and monitoring the contact yard.
