Conservation ZooMobile: Interactive Nature Program for Students

Conservation ZooMobile: Wildlife Conservation Program The Conservation ZooMobile is a hands-on experience that teaches learners of all ages about conservation issues, and invites them to help find solutions that they can implement in their own lives. Using an interactive "learning station" approach, one of our Education Specialists and a group of our specially-trained conservation docents will bring live zoo animals and other fun and engaging interactive activities, biofacts, and even a portable rainforest to engage participants, ages three - adulthood. The Conservation ZooMobile travels throughout the Bay Area and can take place in a library, classroom, or multi-use room at your school.




Important Information

Dates: Wednesdays.
Program Times: Start times vary by distance from the Zoo.
Zone Fees: Additional Zone Fees may apply to your location.
Animals: Participants will be allowed to touch the animals if the total number of participants does not exceed 35. Children 3 and younger are required to have adult assistance when touching the animals.


Program Options

School Station Program
Your classroom will be organized into four stations, with your students rotating between each one. Stations include live animals, The Four Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot), HIPPO (the five main threats to the world's wildlife), and a simulated rainforest. Your students will be introduced to conservation concepts and vocabulary and ideas for how they can help the environment around them.
   • Location: Classrooms only
   • Participants: maximum 35 students
   • Ages: 3rd-5th grades
   • Program Length: approx. 2.5 hours (scheduled around morning recess)
   • Cost: $200.00

Community Assembly Program
The Assembly ZooMobile is an engaging, interactive program that brings current conservation issues to life. Our presenters bring live animals, biofacts, and even have a video presentation, that describes the needs of our planet and active ways each participant can help. After the program, visitors are welcome to discuss what they have learned, ask questions, and view the biofacts up-close.
   • Locations: Libraries, Community Centers, Senior Centers
   • Participants: maximum 100 children and adults
   • Program Length: 1 hour
   • Ages: older elementary through adult
   • Cost: $200.00

Reservation Information

To make a reservation download the School Station Reservation Form OR the Community Assembly Reservation Form. Submit a completed copy via email or fax to (510) 729-7324 at least 8 weeks in advance. We are unable to accommodate bookings less than 2 weeks prior to the event.

Your PO or payment is due in full at least 45 days in advance. If you need to cancel your reservation, you will receive a full refund if the cancelation is made 45 days or more prior to the event. We are sorry, but we cannot give even a partial refund for cancellations made less than 45 days prior to the event.

The program date may be changed once, if the change is requested 45 or more days prior to your event. If space is available, your reservation can be rescheduled later in the same school year, and all payments will be applied to the new reservation. Date changes requested less than 45 days prior to your event will result in a $50.00 change fee, to be paid before the new date will be confirmed. If you made your reservation using a PO, we will deduct the $50.00 per class cancellation fee from your PO.
