Oakland Zoo Presents – Chimpanzee Discovery Days -- Event
9/14/2007
WHEN: Saturday, OCTOBER 13th, from 10:00am - 3:00pm
WHAT: DAYTIME ACTIVITIES: Laughter, learning, culture and fun; there is so much that humans and chimps have in common, yet so little that most of us really know. The Oakland Zoo wants to share some of these primate secrets with you. Bring your family and learn what makes these animals so special, and how we are working to protect them. Chimpanzee Discovery Day invites you to swing like siamangs and leap like lemurs for a day of hands-on, tails-on adventures. Games, activities, learning, prizes, and of course, amazing animals await you on a day that supports chimpanzee conservation through the Budongo Snare Removal Project.
The Oakland Zoo adopted the Snare Removal Program for the Budongo Forest Reserve, in Uganda seven years ago. The project employs local people to remove harmful snares from the forests and offers wildlife and conservation education to the local schools and communities. It has made an impressive difference. You can too.
Admission: FREE with regular Zoo admission xxx The award-winning Oakland Zoo is home to over 440 native and exotic animals. Nestled in the Oakland Hills, in 525 acre Knowland Park, the Zoo is located at 9777 Golf Links Road, off Highway 580.
