Discover the Clorox WildLife Theater nestled in the Wayne & Gladys Valley Children’s Zoo. From family overnights, concerts, and performances to ZooCamps and ZooSchool, the amphitheater is home to programs for kids, families, and schools alike.
It’s furry...it's scaly...it’s cool! You never know what you’re going to see during an Animal Encounter—but you can be sure it will be exciting and educational! These live animal presentations happen each Saturday and Sunday at 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. starting on our annual Earth Day event through our annual Halloween event, Boo at the Zoo. Presentations are weather dependent. Times vary from season to season, so please check the list of events below for details. All shows are free with Zoo admission.

Family Sundown Safari
Grab your tent, sleeping bag, your family, and a few friends and get ready for an overnight adventure at Oakland Zoo. This unique program includes dinner, a nighttime and morning guided tour of the Zoo, a special behind the scenes, live animal presentations, interactive and educational activities, a Wildlife Theater show with Storyteller Suellen Primost and the Nylon Zoo, a hot morning breakfast, and s’mores!
This program is available to all families. If you love nature, the Zoo, camping, and fun; this is the perfect program for you!
Meet some of our Education animals up close! This live, interactive animal presentation takes place in our outdoor Wildlife Theater. After the program, groups are welcome to explore the Zoo until their departure. This program is great for large groups with multiple classes and multiple age ranges.
