Paws and Claus

10:00am – 3:00pm

Free with regular zoo admission (hot breakfast extra). The Oakland Zoo will host a very special guest this holiday season, when Santa Claus visits the Zoo for Paws and Claus.

From 10:00am – 3:00pm, children and families will have the chance to meet St. Nick, share their wish lists and have photos taken with Santa. A variety of family-friendly holiday entertainment is planned and a delicious hot breakfast will also be for sale in the Island Café. Paws and Claus is free with regular zoo admission. A donation of $5 per photo is requested to benefit Oakland Zoo’s animal residents. For more information, please call 510-632-9525.

Oakland Symphony Chorus on Saturday, Dec. 19

11:00am – 11:45am 

Skillfully executing American masterworks as well as traditional choral orchestral works for 51 seasons, the 120 voice strong Oakland Symphony Chorus draws members from all over the Bay Area. OSC performs regularly with the Oakland East Bay Symphony as well as other orchestras and in venues such as the Paramount Theatre, Dunsmuir House, Oakland Zoo and Jack London Square. Sparkles’n’Bubbles

Sparkles'n'Bubbles is a dynamic and entertaining children's music duo based in Northern California. Their music is meant to inspire children to sing, dance, learn, and, most importantly, ask questions!  

Young Peformers Company on Saturday, Dec. 19

Young Performers Company is a professional youth performing group with vocalists ages 10 to 18. Performances include a wide range of genres, from musical theater to pop and rock and rhythm and blues. Their terrific holiday production includes both traditional and contemporary holiday music.
