Groups of more than 12 people can register for a discounted admission price of $5.50 per child and $7.50 per adult. There is an additional parking fee of $6.00 per car or $10.00 per bus. You must register 4 weeks in advance.

Bring your class to the Oakland Zoo for a day full of exploration, learning, and fun! Your class will begin with a short introduction in one of our Education Classrooms. Then it's off to the Zoo with one of our Education Specialists who will lead you on your very own guided tour. There are a variety of themes, from Animal Care to Habitats and Adaptations.  All themes are based on California State Standards. Classes fill up fast, so call today to book your ZooSchool program. 

Organizing your ZooSchool program can be tricky. Where do you park? What time should you arrive? What is included in the program? These and other questions will be answered in the Frequently Asked Questions section. 

ZooSchool Discovery is a 30-45 minute program for 1st through 5th grade students hosted by an Oakland Zoo Education Specialist. Your program will include an introduction to the zoo and a live animal presentation in the Wildlife Theater of the Wayne and Gladys Valley Children's Zoo. After your program ends your class can explore the zoo at your own pace.

Docents give tours of the Zoo to children as well as adults and youth groups. Groups of up to 40 can be accommodated and may be divided into smaller groups for the tour itself. There must be one adult chaperone for each group of eight children. Docent tours are appropriate for children ages 5 and up. The tours can be too lengthy and in-depth for very young children. Advanced reservation required.
