Gather up your troop and head on down to the Oakland Zoo for a day full of fun and adventure! You'll earn your patch/badge* (provided by the Zoo at the end of the program) by playing games, touring the Zoo, learning about animals, and taking part in a fun craft. Workshops are available for: Daisies; Brownies; Junior Girl Scouts and Older Girls. Minimum group size is 15; maximum 30-50, depending on program. Zoo admission is included for the day of your program.

Daisy Girl Scout Animal Adventures
Meet an animal up close, enjoy animal stories and animal movement activities, embark on a mini zoo tour, and make an animal craft to take home. You'll learn all about animals while having fun and making new friends!

Brownie Animal Try-It Workshops
What better place to explore the world of animals than the zoo? Enjoy a zoo tour with one of our education specialists, and learn about how people care for zoo animals, wild animals and pets. Play games and earn the Animals Try-It all in one day!
Fee: $20 per adult - $20 per child. All adults and children must register. Minimum group size is 15; maximum 30.
Brownie Eco-Explorer Try-It Workshops
Become an ecological explorer as you venture into the world of plants and animals. Explore the food chain and animal habitats in a zoo tour, make a habitat craft to take home, and embark on a scavenger hunt. You'll earn your Eco-Explorer Try-It in this fun daytime workshop.

Junior Girl Scout Wildlife Badge Workshop
Wildlife is all around us. Learn how to observe animal behavior like a field biologist. Meet an animal up close, tour the zoo and play games. You'll explore biological diversity and earn your Wildlife badge all in one morning.

Junior Girl Scout Plants and Animals Badge Workshop
What better place to study plants and animals than the Oakland Zoo? Embark on a zoo scavenger hunt, meet one of our education animal ambassadors up close, and try your hand at animal training the Oakland Zoo way. Plus, take home an art project that will grow even more beautiful with time. You'll be a plant and animal expert once you've earned this badge!

New! Junior Girl Scout Badge Bonanza Workshop: Conservation Ecology (Wildlife; Earth Connections; Your Outdoor Surroundings)
Learn about what "thinking globally and acting locally" is all about at the Oakland Zoo and the adjacent Arroyo Viejo Creek! In this badge bonanza, you will learn how to observe and describe plants and animals as a wildlife biologist does. After learning about exotic animal adaptations in the Zoo, you will hike down to the Arroyo Viejo Creek to learn about native wildlife and practice conservation in action at this restoration site. Using your own take-home field guides, you will learn all about native plants and animals, including how to bird-watch by sight and sound. You'll make a botanical craft you can wear, play eco-games, and earn three badges all in one morning as a Conservation Ecologist!
Fee: $30 per adult - $30 per child. All adults and children must register. Minimum group size is 15; maximum 50.
New! Older Girl Scouts Zoo Careers Workshop
What does it take to keep animals healthy in the zoo? What exactly does a veterinarian do? What kinds of jobs exist that work with animals? Find the answers to all these questions and more at this workshop designed especially for older girl scouts. See what the zoo is like at night after all the guests have gone home. Make enrichment for our zoo animals, and go behind the scenes on a private tour to see firsthand how our animals are cared for.
Fee: $20 per adult - $20 per child. All adults and children must register. Minimum group size is 15; maximum 50.
* Patches / Badges awarded: Oakland Zoo Patch (Daisy); Animal Try-It or Eco-Explorer Try-It (Brownie); Wildlife, Plants and Animals Badge, Earth Connections, Your Outdoor Surroundings (Junior); Oakland Zoo Patches are available for Older Girls for $4 per patch.
- One chaperone is required for each 10 scouts.
- Parking is not included in the program fee. Parking is $6 per car.
- Please Note: More than one troop may sign up for each event. In the event that there are less than 15 participants registered 31 days prior to the event date, the event will be canceled. All participants will be re-scheduled where possible, or fully refunded otherwise.

When to Book.................... Please send in your request at least 6 weeks in advance of the date you would like to reserve. We cannot accommodate requests for bookings less than two weeks prior to the event.

Payment Due..................... Within 2 weeks of making the reservation to hold your space. Reservations made less than 4 weeks in advance must pay in full at the time the reservation is made
Cancellation........................ 31 days or more prior: Payment is refunded minus $50 cancellation fee
30 days or fewer prior: No refunds will be made though payment may be applied to the same program the next year
