Oakland Zoo has partnered with New Nature Foundation to protect Uganda’s Kibale National Park since 2006. Home to chimpanzees, elephants, monkeys and countless other species, the park is threatened by small-scale fuel wood collection. NNF’s multi-faceted approach achieves positive outcomes for both wildlife and people. In this Impact Speaker Series, Rebecca Goldstone, President and Co-Founder of New Nature Foundation, will focus on Oakland Zoo’s role in expanding this grass roots campaign to now include 5 target areas, reaching tens of thousands of Ugandans and preserving millions of pounds of firewood each year.
