Zoo Reopening after PG&E Power Outage

Oakland Zoo will be open Wednesday October 28

All Ages

PG&E has restored power to our area and Oakland Zoo will be open Wednesday, October 28th.

If you had reservations to visit the Zoo Monday October 26 or Tuesday October 27, you are welcome to use your existing tickets to visit the Zoo on Wednesday, October 28 or Thursday, October 29.

If you decide to come on Wednesday or Thursday of this week, you must enter during your designated time slot that you reserved for Monday or Tuesday. For example, if you have a 3pm ticket for Monday or Tuesday- you can only enter during the 3pm time slot on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

If you will be unable to visit one of the above alternative dates please email tickets@oaklandzoo.org to have your tickets re-issued for a new date to visit us. Please note Boo at the Zoo tickets are completely sold out for October 30 - 31. Ticket dates can be rescheduled up to 30 days from the date of your scheduled visit.

Zoo leadership evaluates weather forecasts and PG&E notices each morning to determine if it is safe for us to open. Midday closures occasionally happen if conditions change rapidly.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Our animals are safe during any power outage. If the Zoo's power ever shuts off, there are back up generators in place for any animal related habitat and facility.

Thank you for supporting Oakland Zoo; your health and safety are our top priorities.
