Are you considering becoming an Oakland Zoo Member? Membership is a great way to show your support for Oakland Zoo and is a great value! A Zoo membership pays for itself in as few as two visits.
Please note: member reservations often sell out before general admission tickets for the same date and time. If you are planning to visit the Zoo between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, we recommend purchasing GA tickets then upgrading to a membership after your visit. Please see below for details about membership benefits and options.
All memberships start on the date of purchase and expire on the last day of the month, 12 months later. If you are purchasing this as a gift, be sure to enter the recipient's details when prompted for Membership Information and your own details when prompted for Billing Information.

In July 2021, Oakland Zoo's membership cards went digital! Switching to digital cards is a big step for conservation because it eliminates non-recyclable laminated paper cards and the accompanying letter.
Printed cards are no longer available.

Looking to upgrade from single day admissions tickets to a membership? Visit this page to submit your request to upgrade. Only tickets for the individuals that will be covered by your new membership benefits can be applied towards membership fees and your request to upgrade must be submitted within 7 days of your visit.

If you are visiting with individuals not covered by your member benefits, they will be required to purchase GA tickets in advance. The Zoo may be forced to close in the event of inclement weather or any events that cause unsafe conditions for guests or staff.
Some of our members want to be able to bring an adult guest with them on each visit—here's our solution. Leave one of the adults on your membership unnamed and bring a guest with you on every visit. Please note that a separate physical guest card is not issued and that by leaving an adult unnamed, our staff will know that you have chosen the guest option. A named cardholder must be present for your guest to be able to enter the Zoo at no additional cost. This option is available for Dual, Family Plus, and Family Deluxe Memberships only.
If your nanny, caretaker, or another adult, visits the Zoo and their name does not appear on the membership card, the entire party—including children—will be required to pay for admission. We suggest that you name the caretaker as the third person on a Family Plus or Family Deluxe Membership package. Membership cards are not transferable.

All Zoo membership sales are final. All sales, including gift memberships, are non-refundable and non-transferable.
