Environmental education is at the core of our mission at Oakland Zoo and our goal is to make that connection to conservation more accessible to groups in our community. Whether it’s with a school, youth group, church, or other non-profit organization, making a reservation ensures your group admittance on a specific date and offers a discounted rate. Once inside, you can explore the Zoo at your own pace!

Who is qualified?

Open to all ages who are interested in visiting with a school, community group, and non-profit groups of 12 individuals or more.

Does your school qualify for Title 1 funds?

Email education@oaklandzoo.org for eligibility.

Our Zoo-to-Community program is designed to increase access to the Zoo for Oakland public schools that qualify for Title 1 funds. Zoo-to-Community runs from September through May and provides free access to the Zoo. 

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required and is dependent on availability of funds and capacity.

What days are available?

Monday-Friday, year round, except for holidays and certain blackout dates. We are currently booking reservations through December 15, 2023. Reservation requests for 2024 dates will be put on a waitlist and contacted when available dates in 2024 are finalized.

How do I reserve my visit?

Use the link below to submit an online reservation form. We recommend booking your reservation at least 4-6 weeks in advance. We are unable to accommodate requests submitted less than two weeks prior to the date of your visit.
