About the Tour

This behind-the-scenes tour will take you through a facility designed to accommodate all current and future animals at Oakland Zoo, from small birds to large tigers and grizzly bears. It features radiology and surgical suites, a small laboratory, a pharmacy, wide transportation docks, and LEED Gold certification.

• Children must be at least 5 years old to participate. (Participants age 5-17 must be accompanied by adult chaperone)
• Maximum of 15 participants per tour.
• Tours are available select Wednesdays and Saturdays and begin promptly at 10:00am.

Special Student Tours

We have special student tours available at no cost.

You must be a:

• Pre Vet Student, Vet Student, Vet Nursing/Technician Student, or High School student on biology or vet-focused track.
• Tour is free of charge.
• Maximum of 15 participants per tour.
• Tours are available on select Mondays and begin promptly at 10:00am lasting about an hour.
• Parking and Zoo Admission must be purchased separately.
