Fascinating Facts
- Made evident by its name, the Colombian red-tailed boa has noticeably redder coloration than any other snake in the Boidae family.
- Like the rest of the snakes in this family, they are heavy-bodied and muscular, using constriction to incapacitate their prey.
- Females (like the two in our collection) grow larger and can reach lengths between 7-10 feet on average!
